The XA students have access to resources and facilities provided by individual departments and the College of Arts and Letters. For example, students have access to the following spaces:
Students also have access to a number of cutting edge creative and collaboration environments supported by CAL, which can provide useful experiences that support professional development. XA classes will frequently visit or be scheduled in various interactive spaces throughout the Michigan State campus such as the Creativity Exploratory and REAL Classrooms (explained below).
An innovative, practice-based addition to the College of Arts and Letters curriculum, the Creativity Exploratory offers a unique learning environment designed to enhance CAL majors through the creation of projects and real-world problem solving. In hands-on informal learning experiences, students and faculty can collaborate on projects that integrate skills from various majors. The Creativity Exploratory has a computer lab with updated software which students can use for their coursework. Includes student access to Adobe Create Suite.
REAL classroom spaces are specifically designed to enable lively interaction, enhanced learning, and increased faculty and student engagement. Many XA courses take place in rooms such as the one pictured below.
